Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to join our specialized dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, including expertise in medical and aesthetic dermatology procedures such as dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and esthetic laser treatments. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care, performing diagnostic evaluations, assisting with clinical research, and collaborating with physicians to deliver exceptional dermatological services. The Nurse Practitioner will utilize advanced EMR/EHR systems, demonstrate proficiency in medical documentation, and adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Experience with telehealth platforms and familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews.
  • Perform dermatological procedures such as dermal fillers, botulinum toxin injections, esthetic laser treatments, and suturing.
  • Manage acute pain and provide treatment for skin-related conditions, including infection control and wound care.
  • Assist in diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory testing, medical imaging, sonography, and specimen collection/processing.
  • Document patient encounters accurately using EMA/ModMed
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Educate patients on skin care routines, medication administration, and post-procedure care.
  • Participate in clinical research studies related to dermatology and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards during procedures.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to expand patient access to dermatological care.
  • Stay current with advancements in dermatology treatments including laser therapy, dermal fillers, and injectable treatments.

Requirements

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in dermatology preferred; must be licensed to practice independently where applicable.
  • Proven experience in dermatology or related fields such as esthetic medicine, laser treatments, or cosmetic procedures.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as EMA/ModMed; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy related to skin conditions, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Experience administering injections (including Botox and dermal fillers), suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, and venipuncture.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for procedural safety.
  • Ability to perform physical examinations and patient assessments effectively across diverse populations including pediatrics (children), geriatrics (senior care), hospice & palliative medicine patients.
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law applicable to occupational health cases is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
