JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for sample preparation, test and validation of polymer materials. Conduct material characterization and provide polymer materials modelling inputs for virtual analyses (CAE, Durability and other Multiphysics simulations)

• Work in conjunction with engineering and product development teams B.S. in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Polymer Sciences or Engineering is preferred
• 2+ years practical experience directly related to Automotive plastics and composites formulation and processing is preferred
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
• Very organized and detail oriented in documentation, report writing, and data cross functional data management
• Exceptional communication skills.

• Sample Preparation: Prepare polymer and composite samples for testing, including cutting, polishing, and mounting.
• Material Testing: Conduct various mechanical and thermal tests on materials using specialized lab equipment.
• Equipment Management: Operate and help maintain specialized laboratory instruments.
• Data & Documentation: Accurately document all test results to support the materials database.
• Engineering Support: Assist senior engineers with their R&D projects and experiments.
• Lab Maintenance: Ensure the laboratory is kept safe, organized, and well maintained.
