The Maintenance Worker performs maintenance, repair, and construction to maintain the City’s roadways. Specific work assignments are provided daily and may be rotated. Work includes the operation of motorized equipment and the expenditure of heavy physical labor. This is a night shift position, with five night shifts each week from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday night to Friday morning.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills and experience working with GIS systems preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Illinois Driver’s License and Valid Illinois Commercial Driver’s License with related endorsements are required. Preferred candidates must possess a Class A CDL. Possession of a Flagger’s Certification and a Forklift Certification may be required. Ability to be detail oriented, mechanically inclined. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Perform heavy physical work.
