We are looking for a Child & Adolescent Recreation/Art/Music Therapist for our afternoon shift M-F 12:30pm-9:00pm.

Our activity therapists make a difference in the lives of our patients. Our dedicated professionals work tirelessly to create an environment that fosters healing, growth, and long-term wellness.
Incumbent will provide therapeutic recreational, art or music therapy services to our adult, adolescent, or child patients; develops and implements adjunctive therapy treatment plans in concert with the interdisciplinary treatment team as well as demonstrates sound application of recreation, music, or art theory and methodology.

Aurora Charter Oak Hospital has been delivering Behavioral Health Treatment Services for over 83 years. We are located on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Covina, California. Covina is about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley, close to 10, 60 and 210 FWY.

Requirements
License/Certification:
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
· Certification or registration required (e.g. recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, CTRS, RTC, ATR, or CBMT)
· 2 years or more experience in a healthcare field; inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
· Excellent communication, assessment, evaluation, and interpretation skills
· Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment
· Flexibility, teaching or training skills helpful; understanding of DSM-III R methodology
· Current BLS for healthcare provider card upon hire
· Therapeutic Options™ training to be obtained prior to providing direct patient care without a preceptor
