Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse (School Nurse) - Yonkers, NY (#R10152)

Employment Type: Part-time or Full-time (Student Schedule-Dependent)
Hourly Rate: $34.92 - $56.12/hour (experience-dependent)

Position Overview:

We seek compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide one-on-one nursing services to students with intensive medical needs. The nurse will support students in both school and transportation settings, ensuring consistent, safe, and high-quality care throughout the school day.

Qualifications:

• Education: RN: ADN/BSN or LPN: Accredited diploma.
• Licensure:
  • Active NY RN or LPN License.
  • Current CPR/First Aid.
• Experience: Pediatric/school nursing (preferred).
• Technical Skills:
  • Tracheostomy/G-tube care.
  • Seizure response.
  • Catheterization.
• Soft Skills:
  • Emergency response readiness.
  • Cross-functional communication.
• Others:
  • Pass background check/fingerprinting.

Key Responsibilities:

In-School Duties:

• Deliver direct 1:1 skilled nursing care to assigned student.
• Administer medications and treatments per the physician's orders.
• Monitor and document vital signs and symptoms.
• Manage specialized procedures such as:
  • Tracheostomy care.
  • Suctioning.
  • G-tube feedings.
  • Seizure response.
  • Catheterization.
• Participating in IEP meetings and care planning.

Transportation Support:

• Accompany the student to/from school on the bus.
• Monitor the student’s condition during transit.
• Provide emergency interventions if necessary.
• Coordinate with parents, bus staff, and school personnel.

Administration & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate, confidential health records.
• Comply with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
• Submit incident and service reports regularly.
