Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for accurately receiving, shipping, and tracking and maintaining inventory in TP Trucking/Logistics warehouse in Thomson, Georgia. Responsibilities include safely loading and unloading trucks and rail cars and ensuring the proper documentation, counts, and storage of inventory. Works collaboratively with the facility team and drivers to ensure all processes are conducted safely and efficiently manner.

 

MAJOR TASKS:

  • Uses loaders, forklifts, and pallet jacks to load and unload trucks, rail cars, and intermodal containers. Ensures efficient utilization of warehouse space.
  • Ensures trucks are loaded accurately according to instructions from the customer, office personnel, or sales staff.
  • Rotates product on trucks and in warehouse in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Responsible for managing the FIFO Procedures established by the operations manager.
  • In accordance with established procedures, accurately records items that are loaded and unloaded. Keeps track of inventory utilizing the company’s IT systems.
  • Follows all safety procedures to prevent injuries while performing heavy lifting and operating warehouse equipment.
  • Completes work with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Degree or GED
  • 3 years or more experience in receiving, loading/unloading trucks, and maintaining warehouse inventory.
  • Must have the ability to operate loader and forklift.
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Must be comfortable working independently in a safe efficient pace.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, drivers, and customers.
  • Management of 1-3 employees.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and email, and the ability to learn and use company specific software.
