The truck driving trainer will assist the truck driving program director to support the overall instructional process. The duties of the trainer will be to oversee the over the road and driver training range. The trainer will assist with the scheduling of students for testing and observations and will also be accountable for the equipment to create an efficient use of all truck resources. Trainers will assist, observe and evaluate students as they accomplish driving maneuvers on the range and over the road. Trainers will assist with classroom instruction by preparing and giving presentations of instructional materials, which are scheduled and approved by the program director. The trainer will evaluate and assess trainees’ skills and performance, ensuring they are prepared for on-the-road responsibilities in a safe and compliant manner. Additionally, the trainer will provide both in-cab and classroom training on topics such as logbook management, vehicle maintenance, routes, and regulations (e.g., hours of service, ELD use, DOT requirements). Trainers will perform these duties and tasks in accordance with the college policies and procedures. The trainers will be asked to facilitate other duties as assigned by the program director.
