Position Description
Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Training and Development Coordinator
AvantGarde, LLC (AG) seeks to engage a Training and Development Coordinator to support the Workforce Development Branch for a NAVSEA Warfare Center by accessing data, preparing reports and coordinating training and development activities to facilitate workforce development and training needs.
The WORK
· Coordinate event logistics and assist in the delivery of Training and Onboarding across departments to ensure attendance, including assistance with the facilitation and delivery of Onboarding activities as needed.
· Monitor all mandatory training requirements, report on delinquent statuses, and update the learning management system (LMS) and other personnel tracking systems.
· Extract and analyze data and prepare reports to provide supervisors with the employee statuses of required training coursework and developmental activities.
· Enter course data into the LMS, schedule courses, send out course invitations and reminders, register and schedule participants in support of multiple workforce development programs, providing administrative support to staff responsible for executing future workforce development strategies.
· Coordinate with departments regarding registrations for Government Led Training such as Defense Acquisition University (DAU) and Cyber Security Workforce courses.
· Provide support, as needed) to support special projects and meetings regarding strategic planning, and workforce shaping. Assist with tasks regarding acquisition and support of commercially available training which will meet the organizational needs.
· Provide support, as needed to annual organizational workforce development needs assessment to inform Government prioritization and resourcing. This may include analyzing key organizational inputs such as Individual Development Plans (IDPs),
Business Plan inputs, customer needs, environmental trends, and overall organizational strategies.
The REQUIREMENTS
· High School Diploma or GED and 5 years’ relevant experience in private sector, non- profit or state, local federal governments; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
· Must be able to pass Department of Navy background investigation and clearance processes.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaboratively with others.
· Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities; attention to detail is critical.
· Excellent written, verbal communication and customer service skills demonstrated with proven experience drafting formal documents.
· Intermediate level of proficiency using MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook; experience using SharePoint.
· Experience using an LMS is preferred.
· Flexibility in the approach to delivering work.
· Must be willing to work onsite in Philadelphia, PA with some potential for telework as approved by the client.
· Must operate a PC in an office environment in a primarily sedentary position.
· Perform some bending, light lifting and carrying of equipment as required.
The CLIENT
The NAVSEA Warfare Centers (WCs), which include Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) and Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), represent approximately 50% of the Navy’s engineering and scientific expertise. The NAVSEA WCs employ a broad range of scientists, engineers, and support personnel within ten Divisions located across the United States.
NSWCPD employs over 1,700 civilian engineers, scientists, technicians, and support personnel doing research and development, test and evaluation, acquisition support, and
in-service and logistics engineering for Navy ships. NSWCPD is the lead organization providing cybersecurity for all ship systems.
Today's NSWCPD employees work on initiatives including power and propulsion, energy conservation, alternative fuels, integrated electric power systems, and automation and controls. The site has 1.5 million square feet of building space with more than 100 laboratories and test sites.
