The Food and Beverage Manager at The Porter Hotel is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations within the hotel. This includes, managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining quality standards, and working to achieve departmental goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to provide exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing the day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets within the hotel, including restaurants, bars, room service, and banquet functions.
2. Developing and implementing strategies to enhance service quality, drive revenue, and improve operational efficiency.
3. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed, ensuring cost-effective management of resources.
4. Train, supervise, and evaluate food and beverage staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting team development.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards in all food and beverage areas.
5. Address guest complaints and feedback promptly, taking appropriate action to resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
6. Menu planning, pricing, and the creation of promotional offers in collaboration with the culinary team.
7. Conduct regular inspections of food and beverage outlets to ensure cleanliness, proper service standards, and guest satisfaction.
8. Coordinate with the kitchen and banquet teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverage services for events.
9. Preparing budgets, financial reports, and forecasts for the food and beverage department.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a food and beverage management role, preferably in a hotel environment.
3. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
5. Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including safety and sanitation regulations.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with food and beverage management software such as MICROs
7. Must have current OLCC certification
8. Must have current ability to complete the Oregon SERV Safe manager course within 90 days of employment.
9. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
