The Bellefonte Area School District is accepting applications for the Weekend Custodian position

Location: Bellefonte Area School District Work Day:

• Saturday-Sunday 7:00 am - 8:00 pm (two 30 minute meal periods, 12 total hours)
• Monday-Tuesday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm (one 30 minute meal period, 8 total hours)

Paid Holidays: 15 per year

Position Overview

The Bellefonte Area School District is seeking a reliable Weekend Custodian to monitor and maintain all district buildings during weekends and holidays. This essential role supports the health and safety of the school community by ensuring that facilities remain clean, secure, and fully operational outside of regular school hours. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, dependability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

The Weekend Custodian will:

• Monitor and maintain all district buildings during weekends and holidays

• Provide and maintain a safe, secure, clean, and healthy environment for students, staff, and the community

• Perform routine cleaning, sanitizing, and light maintenance tasks as needed

• Respond to facility-related issues and emergencies during assigned shifts

• Ensure building security and proper functioning of systems during off-hours

• Communicate with district personnel regarding facility needs or concerns

Education Requirements

Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Vocational training or coursework in custodial services or facility maintenance

Experience Requirements

Minimum:

• Abilty to operate/use various custodial equipment.
• Abiltiy to read and understand basic operating instructions and safety labels.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in custodial work or facility maintenance

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and perform physical tasks

• Experience working in school or institutional settings

Certifications & Licenses

Required:

• Valid PA driver's license

Preferred:

• OSHA safety training or equivalent custodial certification
